Larchfield Estate Wedding | Iulia & Turlough
Wedding photography at Larchfield Estate.
I love a Larchfield Estate wedding, this is one of my favourite wedding venues in Northern Ireland. It was actually the venue where I shot my first wedding!
Just 15 minutes from Belfast Larchfield extends to 600 acres and includes peaceful forest and woodland alongside picturesque river banks. Steeped in history, Larchfield’s heritage dates back to the 1600’s. Larchfield Estate just radiates ambiance, peace and tranquillity. A perfect setting to get married. It’s very easy to see how this is a photographers dream venue.

Although I’ve shot many weddings at Larchfield, this was the only one I had there in 2018 so I was super excited to be shooting there again. Especially since I knew Iulia & Turlough would have organised such a brilliant day for their guests!

Iulia had been planning from the USA while Turlough was still living in Northern Ireland. Wedding planning can be tricky enough when doing it locally so it’s super impressive that they brought together such a fab wedding from afar. We managed to meet up around Christmas the previous year to do an engagement shoot at the Antrim coast. You can check that out here.
Iulia had been hoping for an outdoor ceremony in Larchfield’s beautiful gardens. But on the morning of the wedding it looked like the weather may have had other ideas. While photographing the bridal preparations in the morning I was on the phone with those working at Larchfield to make sure we could go ahead with the outdoor ceremony.

Wow I just love it here at Drenagh. It makes the perfect setting for your wedding photography.
Drenagh Estate Wedding
Drenagh Estate near Limavady, Northern Ireland. A beautiful house built in 1835 by Charles Lanyon; famous for various landmarks around Belfast. It’s surround by beautiful gardens with features from the 18th and 19th centuries, not to mention the famous Moon Garden, making it a great spot for wedding photography. It also has a stunning marquee, which can fit 275 guests, in the middle of it’s 4 acre walled garden.

Kaite & Ed live in London so Ed and his men got ready in a house they rented in nearby Limavady, meanwhile Katie and her bridesmaids did all their prep in the beautiful guest rooms in Drenagh. Being so close together I managed to drop in quickly with Ed and the guys to catch those last nervous moments of getting ready before heading to see the Katie and the girls.

I was super excited when Fiona and Andrew asked me to their wedding photography at The Ivory Pavilion. I’ve known Fiona since we were kids so it was a privilege to be part of their special day.
Ivory Pavilion Wedding Photos
Ivory Pavilion weddings take place on the grounds of the beautiful and scenic grounds of Galgorm Castle built by Sir Faithful Fortescue in 1618. The marquee is situated in the middle of the magnificent walled garden in view of the historic castle.

This was my first time photographing a wedding at The Ivory Pavilion in Galgorm, Northern Ireland and it certainly didn’t disappoint. The weather was on our side and meant we could make use of the fantastic gardens and historic scenery for Fiona & Andrew’s wedding photos.

Fiona & Andrew opted to have two photographers to cover their wedding, so while I was documenting what was going on with the girls in the morning, Amos headed over to join the guys. They got married at Glenabbey Church for a beautiful ceremony with contributions from ministers from both of their home churches before heading up the road to The Ivory Pavilion.
