About Peter
I didn’t plan to be a wedding photographer.
Back in 2013, I opened a small portrait studio. I’d studied chemistry at university, then spent some time working with a mission agency in the west of Zambia. While I was there, I kept taking photos and sharing them. A few organisations noticed and asked if I’d shoot for them. That’s when I started to think photography might be more than just a hobby.
Weddings came along when a cinematographer friend said, “You know how to work a camera — want to shoot a wedding with me?” I gave it a go and loved it. I started photographing weddings in 2014, and by 2018 I was busy enough (and enjoying it enough) to step away from the studio and focus entirely on weddings. In 2021, I added video to my wedding packages.
I keep things relaxed and unfussy. I’m there to capture the joy, not get in the way. What I care about is making photographs that feel timeless. The kind you’ll still love in 30 years.
I live in Belfast with my wife Amy and our three kids: Ivy, Ezra, and Caleb. Life’s full and noisy, and it’s made me appreciate how fast time moves and how valuable it is to have images that help you remember not just how things looked, but how they felt.
If that sounds like your kind of thing, I’d love to hear more about your day.
